IDN quietly began out of a desire to protect two families in the event of untimely deaths. In the early 1970s, Al Hoffman and Virl Mullins, both second-generation owner-operators, found themselves in businesses that traditionally needed to be liquidated when the owner passed away as there were few buyers for small family-owned distribution businesses.  They set a simple goal for themselves: build an enterprise that would outlast their own family businesses.  Through acquisitions, they set up a network of owner-operated distributors across North America, thus began the company known as IDN Global, Inc.

Today, IDN Global, Inc. is a melting pot of the Security Hardware Distribution Industry. IDN Global, with its blended culture and strong operational, financial, and customer service disciplines, and deep security expertise, is laser-focused on supplying security products and services across North America from fifty-two brick and mortar distribution centers.  As IDN’s online business contuned to expand, they needed an experienced partner to oversee their heavy Magento 2 implementation.
